How I helped jumpstart the Work Experience program at Cuyamaca College.
As I created and experimented with more variations of the logo, I moved less from a font based logo over to a shaped based logo. This was due to the limitations of using a font based logo as well as the vision of the final logo straying away from using font. I had finally decided on creating a logo that closely aligned with the program’s goal of creating a gateway for students to begin their journey as designers.
In October of 2019 I was tasked with creating a logo for the Cuyamaca College internship program titled Work Experience Lab for the Graphic Design Department head Tom Bugzavich to establish the program throughout the campus along with an identity that placed the program as a gateway for students to network and connect with employers and clients. For this project I decided on combining the two words for a visual representation on the program's fulfillment.
During my time working as a graphic designer at MHM Glass Etching, I worked on various projects juggling as many as 15 different client tasks at a time. The drafting stage was transforming flat images into vectorized form along with creating a stunning and unique design tailored to various clients and companies.
My main task as a designer for MHM was to create and mockup designs for clients during the preproduction phase of the design. Along with preproduction phase I also would communicate with sales to ensure the clients satisfaction with the service and products.
Once the design is decided by the client, the bottle design would be transformed into a film for production to etched into the beverage or alcoholic bottle. Once finished, the bottle would be painted with the colors choosen.
How I elevated a client's brand identity with a logo and website.
My task from the client was to create brand identity for their business by creating a logo and website reflecting their work experience and services that they provide.
The direction of the logo had went through a few different ideas. Ultimately, the client wanted to take the logo in a direction that was more feminine and modern. With that in mind I redesigned the logo accordingly and would create this design that would be used for her brand.
Once the logo was finalized, I moved to creating the website to taylor to the client's brand identity. For this I created the website and consulted the client for drafting the content that would show on the website.

Hello there! My name is Daniel Gonzalez and I'm a graphic designer and photographer living in San Diego, California. A adjunct instructor during the day and a photographer at night. In 2021 I worked as a graphic designer contractor and a production designer at MHM Glass Etching which specialized in creating promotional glass etching products, allowed me to work with clients such as Sony, Goldman Sachs, and iHeart Radio. Later serving greater San Diego area as an Photo Booth Attendant vendor at Pixster Photo Booth Rental for events and special occassions. Serving clients such as Cymbiotika, Comic con, and UCSD with excellent communication and coordination, allowed me to gain experience working in environments with minimal supervision, excellent customer service, and fast-paced environments.
